Aeroflot to join SkyTeam in 2005

Russian flag carrier Aeroflot signed an agreement with Air France to start talks about joining the global SkyTeam alliance some time next year.
The agreement is likely to boost the Russian company's growth and take it a big step closer to global markets. In return, Aeroflot would have to boost service quality and harmonies its flight systems with that of the alliance.
Aeroflot expects to join SkyTeam in 2005 and said its entry would bring it at least an extra $20 million in revenues a year. SkyTeam includes: U.S. airline Delta and Italy's Alitalia, among other airlines.
